One door. Four journeys. Ripples of change.

When belief meets courage, impact goes far beyond one person.

Recently, I reconnected with four extraordinary individuals whose journeys are a powerful reminder of what happens when opportunity meets courage.

Sally, from Zambia, arrived in the UAE four years ago and started in the kitchen. Today, she is a Line Cook Chef, promoted twice and leading with pride.Odette, from Rwanda, began in housekeeping. She now thrives in a front office role, welcoming guests with confidence. Tabbeth, also from Zambia, is now a Global Learning and Digital Tools Executive, shaping learning across borders.Matilda, six months into her journey, is already growing in confidence and showing quiet leadership as she builds her future.

This is what happens when people are seen, supported, and given the chance to rise.

Evolvin Women was the vehicle. It is the vision of Assia Riccio, CEO and Founder, whose mission is to unlock hidden potential. She invited me into that purpose. I used it to open a door and give hope and opportunity to other African women. The courage to walk through came from them.

We met to honour how far they have come. They have not only built careers, they have sparked belief in themselves and in what is possible for others.

I give back because it is how I was raised, because my journey was shaped by people who believed in me, and because opening a door for someone else can create lasting impact not just for that person, but for the communities they go on to uplift.

To Sally, Odette, Tabbeth and Matilda — you are seen, you are heard, and you are just getting started. And to every leader reading this — never underestimate what opening a door can do.
